Easter weekend means kite flying in Haiti. However, it’s generally boys who are making and flying kites. Today in the WISH Youth Center, the Girls Club learned how to make kites. We needed a couple of boys as instructors. Hoping that next year we will be 100% girls teaching and making kites. @beyondbordershaiti #empowergirls #ministryhappenshere #BTFmission @ Anse à Galets ...

These may seem old to you but they are crucial to the operations of WISH. Thanks to the WISH board and many other supporters, these critical pieces of machinery get the parts they need to keep serving the people of Anse a Galet. The tractor has been down for months and is now back in the service. The truck has been failing for a long time but has been given new life through parts from another old truck. The Mule is not totally fixed but on its way. With the local WISH team and volunteers with needed skills, WISH keeps plugging along. As we prepare to do major repairs to the WISH Waterline, these pieces of equipment will be indispensable. Please think about the “everyday” of WISH and visit www.haitiwish.org. #ministryhappenshere ...

The everyday at WISH continues despite problems in the country. I (Robin) arrived back at WISH today to find things in good shape with resourcefulness and frugality well employed in my absence. The WISH team has done a great job at keeping things moving in the right direction. WISH has continued to minister in a significant way in the absence of the directors. And isn’t that the way it should be? The real ministers in this story are the WISH workers who have worked for WISH for so long and have made such a difference in their local community. Please help WISH provide more opportunities for the staff to work in their community. #ministryhappenshere ...

And life goes on....

The WISH team were busy all last week fixing holes in the WISH waterline. This one had a garden hose attached to it and was used to water a local garden. As you can see, a significant amount of water was being lost. Another one plugged! #ministryhappenshere

And life goes on......

The WISH team are out continuing to work on the WISH waterline. There are places where people have inserted a hot piece of rebar to make a hole in the line and it makes a nice little watering system for a garden. Unfortunately, it diminishes significantly the amount of water available to the greater community. The team is spending the week closing these holes and securing the repair as best they can to avoid further problems. #ministryhappenshere

And life goes on.....

Someone once asked me what would happen if the waterline broke while I was off the island. I told them there wouldn’t be anyone there to run out, take a picture and post it to Facebook. Other than that, everything else would go on as normal. Well, apparently I am not needed for that either.
The WISH team are busy fixing the waterline today to ensure the community of Anse a Galet continue to have water. Sometimes Locktite is not enough. This team are dedicated to the ministries of WISH and the community it serves. #ministryhappenshere
